Robin Messed Up The News Report Of Rob Zombie's 'CSI' Episode

During her new segment, Robin reported that tonight's episode of "CSI: Miami" was directed by Rob Zombie.

     Robin was wrong.

Tonight's episode of "CSI: Miami" was a repeat.

The Rob Zombie-directed episode of "CSI: Miami" will be aired Monday, March 1.

Not only was Robin wrong, she may have disappointed many listeners who tuned into tonight's CSI episode for nothing.

thank you, inotherwords, for posting this information. it is the best.

i am one of the dumb ones who became excited to watch csi miami last night after i heard robin hyping it on the show in the morning. i should have known robin was wrong because the olympics are on, like mm said.

This is the best: On The Howard Stern Show Website for February 22, 2010, at the end they list Robin's News. The link says "Rob Zombie directed tonight's 'CSI: Miami.'" When you click on the link, you go to the NY Daily News site article dated Feb 22. The first line of the article reads "Next Monday's "CSI: Miami," directed by horror auteur Rob Zombie, is "darker, spookier, scarier, and more dangerous with a lot more edge," says co-executive producer Barry O'Brien." She didn't even read the first line of the story.

Robin has limited common sense, in my opinion. Almost every highly rated TV show is airing repeats during the Olympics. Robin should know this. Only the special serialized shows like 24 and Lost and American Idol are airing new episodes up against the ratings juggernaut known as the Olympics.

Well come on, if you listen to Robin's "newscast" for news you are going to be sadly misinformed. You're better off reading the Onion News. Today (Monday) showed her at her sloppiest and most conceited in a long time. Sadly Artie isn't there to point this out and everyone else kisses her butt now, even Sal has backed off.

Posted by Admin 02/23/2010 2:34 AM
I'm continually amazed at how she makes mistakes like this when the news story is right in front of her, on her desk, on paper, printed by her intern(s). Her failure/refusal to read a story before reporting it is astounding.

Robin Declares "Shutter Island" Leonardo DiCaprio's Second Biggest Opening Ever
Show Date: Monday 02/22/2010 -- Submitted 02/22/2010 5:13 PM by O-Qua Tangin Wann

During her news segment, Robin reported that "Shutter Island" opened as the number one movie this past weekend, taking in over $40,000,000.

Robin also reported: "It was the biggest opening for Leonardo DiCaprio aside from 'Titanic'."

My gosh, Robin, please watch or read the news before you go to work!

It is being widely reported that "Shutter Island" is DiCaprio's biggest opening ever, regarding box office gross. (It is also Scorcese's. And because of this fact, there have been headlines in many media outlets proclaiming "Shutter Island" DiCaprio's biggest opening ever.)

"Titanic" earned $28.6 million dollars opening weekend.

But even if Robin didn't watch or read the news as she should because of her job or because of a general interest in what's going on, I feel she should have known this fact anyway. It is general trivia knowledge that "Titanic" only opened in the $20 to $30 million-dollar range and yet went on to earn over $600,000,000 in the USA. No other movie in history has ever opened that low and then made so much total.

When I heard this yesterday I just knew it was wrong. I had nothing whatsoever to base this on, as its not something I knew offhand, however based on the law of averages and her record, I just knew it was incorrect. Thats really sad.

Thanks OQTW for taking the time to investigate this!

The actuals for "Shutter Island" were just released. The movie made over $41,000,000 opening weekend. Robin is such a moron. Sorry, but she is. Nikki Finke's Hollywood blog is one of the most read sources for show biz industry news by media outlets. Robin could get on her email list where the breaking show biz news headlines are emailed. Finke reported a big headline this past weekend that stated "Shutter Island" is DiCaprio's biggest opening, either alone or together with Martin Scorcese.

Walter Koenig Was On 'Babylon 5' and not 'Battlestar Galactica'
Show Date: Monday 02/22/2010 -- Submitted 02/22/2010 4:37 PM by O-Qua Tangin Wann

During her news segment, Robin reported on the disappearance of actor Walter Koenig's son, Andrew.

At the end of the story, Howard paid a compliment to Walter Koenig. He then asked Robin a question. Howard: "What's the second show he was in?" (Referring to Walter, of course, and his first show "Star Trek" where he played Chekov, as everyone knows.)

Robin: "Battlestar Galactica." Howard told Robin she was correct. So yes, Howard was dead wrong as well.

The show was "Babylon 5." Koenig did 12 episodes.

I can't fathom that one....she said herself its during the week because she doesnt want to go to it on her weekend. The person its in honor of should not have to take the day out of work to attend her own shower!

Posted by HeHateMe 02/23/2010 2:28 AM
Robin was so busy planning the noon time engagement party she got Battlestar Galactica mixed up with Babylon 5.

Is that not the stupidest thing you ever heard of?

Posted by Mr. Jombi 02/22/2010 8:36 PM
I'm really surprised at the number of mistakes made on Monday's show. I really don't think vacations are doing the crew of the Howard Stern show any good, they seem to come back with their brains out of order.

Posted by Tradio Tramp 02/22/2010 8:17 PM
Robin's stupidity is rubbing off on Howard, and causing confusion.

But no matter what, how can Robin not bow her head in shame when she adds up the huge total of wrong information spewed from her lips?

Show after show after show, Robin's error count is staggering.

Robin has claimed to be a fan of Battlestar Galactica and should have known the actor who portrayed Chekov was not in that show. I knew it, and apparently O-Qua knew it.

Robin Messes Up While Reporting On The Guy Who Crashed His Plane Into A Building In Austin

During her news segment, Robin reported on the story of the guy who flew his plane into a building in Austin, Texas. The guy also burned down his home.

Robin reported that the guy was Terry Hoskins. The guy was Joseph Stack. Yes, Robin did eventually correct herself and reveal the correct name.

The second Robin gaffe during the reporting of the story:

Howard asked: "How many dead"? Robin replied that she did not know.

Robin's only iron-clad responsibility is to do the news segment. This particular news story was plastered all over the news all over the country. The story was huge. How can Robin justify that she didn't watch or read the news prior to going to work today?

It was widely reported that two people total died as a result of the plane crash. The pilot, and one guy inside the building. I find it inexcusable that Robin doesn't watch or read the news since she makes so much money talking about it.

Oh, and don't forget how evite messed up her shower invitations. Instead of just admitting she didnt know how to use evite and screwed it up when she made the shower 12-7, she claimed several times that evite did not give her the option for an end time...I think she screamed there was no end time option on THAT invitation. Ok, Robin whatever....

Posted by beastre 02/23/2010 9:09 PM
that's right Dora--it's NEVER Robin's fault. Not the poor planning of the shower, not the failure to thank everybody for contributing to her benefit, etc.

Posted by Dora 02/23/2010 9:07 AM
This was unreal! I love how anytime she doesnt have the answer to a news story question she says "this report doesnt tell me that". She blames the news story. With such a HUGE news story you would think she would look at more than one source!!!!

Posted by Mr. Jombi 02/23/2010 2:57 AM
I do have appreciation for the bigger issue, I just didn't want to state the obvious. I'm just trying to understand what is happening to her, she used to be sharp as a knife but I'm listening to the woman deteriorate. What was that huge silence of air? My sympathies for her painter boyfriend, he's got a confused woman to deal with.

Posted by Big Tex 02/22/2010 10:45 PM
This was pure gold..... even Howard sounded a bit pissed. Did you catch that dead air when he finally chimed in with... "What are we doing? Acquiring signal?"

Posted by Tradio Tramp 02/22/2010 9:22 PM
Mister Jombi, the bigger issue than who is pulling Robin's news stories is the fact Robin doesn't know the facts on her own. You do. I do. OQTW does. Robin Observer does. So many people do. And they know the facts because they watch the news.

We know that two people died because we heard it on TV or read it in the paper or at an online news site. But we are not being paid millions every year to talk about daily events. We do it because we want to know what is going on in the world.

Robin is being paid to talk about news stories, and she doesn't know on her own that two died in this unusual and huge news event. This is just not acceptable, in lots of people's opinion.

Posted by Mr. Jombi 02/22/2010 8:40 PM
I caught that too but since I had reported on one Robin mistake today, I thought I would take a breather and let someone else get the glory. My big question is: who pulls Robin's news story anyway? It doesn't sound like Robin because I would THINK the number of casualties would be a major part of this story. It is funny though to hear Howard ask her a question to the news she supposedly compiles and hear her hem and haw while she rustles her papers! It's like an intern is just handing her news that she doesn't bother to pre-read.

This is just very sad now.

I hope Will Murray reads this one. He should know that the listeners are now finding Robin's endless news segment errors to be very sad. I think it is time for Robin to retire.

Robin Gets Luge Facts Wrong

Talking about the luge tragedy at the Olympics, Robin mentioned that after the death of the luger, officials wrapped the poles with some padding (which was what some people said they should do right after it happened). But they in fact put up a wooden wall, continuing the luge wall over those steel poles.

She also mentioned that he was going down the course at 80mph, they all said it was too fast and before the death they were going at 90-95mph continously.

I saw on the news that they raised the height of the luge track wall to protect from hitting the beams.

I guess this is further proof Robin doesn't watch the news.

In the first five minutes of her return from yet another week of vacation, Robin Quivers did it again. During further discussion with Howard on whether he would take over for Simon Cowell on American Idol, Robin opened her mouth and stated with confidence that Simon owned the American Idol franchise. Howard quickly corrected her that in fact he had sold it earlier. American Idol is owned by Simon Fuller.

I'm sure Robin's head is still back with her boyfriend on the West Coast. What a shame that her work takes her away from what she'd rather be doing, traveling and having a good time. Of course only ten weeks of vacation a year really sucks so it's no wonder the woman can't think straight at work.

Fuller, Cowell...c'mon, they both have 6 letters.

Robin Must Have A License To Kill When It Comes To Giving Wrong Answers

Benecio del Toro was in the studio to be interviewed.

He told Howard he was cast as a henchman in the James Bond movie "Licence to Kill."

Howard asked who the actor was who played James Bond in "Licence to Kill."

Robin just had to jump right in there, so sure she knew who it was. (Even more embarrassing since Benecio was right there on the couch. Why not let Benecio answer the question since Benecio was the one in the movie?) Robin told everyone that Pierce Brosnan was the James Bond in "Licence to Kill."

Of course, Benecio immediately corrected Robin and said it was Timothy Dalton.

Beefeaters Are Not Palace Guards
Show Date: Thursday 02/11/2010 -- Submitted 02/11/2010 1:39 PM by Artie's Taint

While Howard was ruining Ronnie the Limo Driver's life this morning, he told Ronnie to stand outside like the Buckingham Palace Guards in England (he even asked Ronnie where the Palace was and Ronnie got it right!!).

Well, once again, the know-nothing news reporter, Robin Moron shouts out "BEEFEATER," as to say that's what these palace guards are known.

     SCHMUCK!!
And...if that [T]ain't bad enough...she said it again about 10 minutes later: "BEEFEATER!" she yelled out....HOLY SHIT!!!

Beefeater is the nickname given to the Yeomen guards at the Tower of London, not the stoic-non-reactive guards at the Palace to which Howard was referring.

Robin again speaks out of turn, and out of time...She knows NOTHING..and less than that.

     on the net: http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/questions/beefeaters.htm

The guards at the Tower of London are called Yeoman Warders. In principle they are responsible for looking after any prisoners at the Tower and safeguarding the British crown jewels, but in practice they act as tour guides and are a tourist attraction in their own right. There are twelve Yeomen Warders.

While their role is usually confined to the Tower of London, the Yeomen Warders do take part in one State ceremony. At Coronations, they form a guard of honour inside the annexe at Westminster Abbey. Their nickname is Beefeater.

Certainly sir, keep this up. I've never been to England and yet I know that visually the Beefeater looks very different from the Queen's Guard. I am not prepared to suggest a Fred's Wrong site just yet.

Posted by O-Qua Tangin Wann 02/13/2010 3:41 PM
Mr. Jombi,

HowardTV posted this episode today. I just finished watching it.

Fred did indeed first call out that the guards in front of Buckingham Palace are called Beefeaters.

Twice after that, Robin used the word Beefeater, incorrectly, of course.

Robin has often told the audience over the years that she came back from trips to England. Robin often comes across like she is an expert at things British.

Regardless of Fred calling out Beefeater first, the question is should Robin have known the guys in the red uniforms in front of Buckingham Palace are called a sentry of the Queen's Guard and not Beefeater?

The Beefeater uniform is different than the the Queen's Guard's.

In fairness to Robin, I am assuming the majority of Americans would not know the difference between a Beefeater and a Queen's Guard...and the majority of Americans would go with Fred after he says they are Beefeaters since Fred is usually right. So, I understand your point, but technically Robin was wrong, as you know.

In my humble opinion, I think Admin should keep this submission posted, even though I agree with you that Robin can be forgiven here with this one. No one in the back office or in the studio, including Fred and Howard and Benjy knew Beefeater was wrong.

Posted by Mr. Jombi 02/13/2010 2:25 PM
What is the admins call on this? I don't care if this is truly a Robin error but it would help me keep an ear open for this kind of blunder. If not correcting the error of someone else is valid, then this opens up new arena. Robin sides with Howard all the time and he can be wrong. Look at the ride she took with his cell phone choices.

Posted by Artie's Taint 02/12/2010 4:08 PM
Jombi: I heard it too on the replay this morning...HOWEVER...she still followed suit, loud and clear...she didn't correct Fred, or even try to...therefore, she is guilty as charged.

Posted by Mr. Jombi 02/12/2010 2:04 PM
Actually, Robin was not the first one to yell out Beefeater, Fred was. Robin simply repeated this a few seconds later. I listened again just to double check, it's very clear. Robin should get a pass here; she merely parroted someone else which she does a lot, but this is more genius Fred's error than hers.

Robin Needs an Associated Press Stylebook at Her Side

During today's news our incompetent reporter stated that Nancy Kerrigan's father's death was reported as a homicide and that he was murdered. She used murder and homicide in the same sentence however they aren't the same thing. Murder is premeditated whereas a homicide ruling is just that a human killed another human. A medical examiner's official report states her father died as a result of a physical confrontation with his son. Even if that is true it would be manslaughter, not murder.

     http://www.aolnews.com/crime/article/death-of-nancy-kerrigans...

According to an Associated Press stylebook that gives journalistic rules for terms and phrases, "Unless authorities say premeditation was obvious, do not say that a victim was murdered until someone has been convicted in court. Instead, say that a victim was killed or slain."

Robin Quivers is to the Howard Stern Show as Dr. Nick is to the Simpsons

Once Again, Robin mis-speaks concerning medical information. Howard was relaying a story about Jeff the Drunk suffering a stroke on Sunday and not realizing it until yesterday. Immediately The Cackeling Quack Quivers shouts out "Who has a stroke and DOESN'T know it!!!".

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders: A stroke, sometimes called a "brain attack," occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted. When a stroke occurs, brain cells in the immediate area begin to die because they stop getting the oxygen and nutrients they need to function.

THE IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION: "Because stroke injures the brain, you may not realize that you are having a stroke. To a bystander, someone having a stroke may just look unaware or confused. Stroke victims have the best chance if someone around them recognizes the symptoms and acts quickly."

Then, from Smart-Kit.com: "Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of strokes that occur in your brain are silent: most people do not realize they’re getting hit with one. And most remain blissfully unaware even after the fact.

However, as these strokes slowly accumulate over time, brain power and memory function begin to decline. Amazingly, it is common for people over the age of 55 to have several strokes in their brain and not even realize it.

This scenario plays itself out thousands of times a week across the country."

I am no doctor, but I knew that you may not realize you are having a stroke from previous articles I have read. Obviously, since Robin knows everything, she has no need to read any articles on any subject.

Howard brings up an American Idol performance on the first of the Hollywood shows. Right after Howard explains that a guy came out with a guitar and sang a Paula Abdul song, Robins chimes in stating "...all the auditions now are a capella."

As anyone with a clue knows, a capella means to sing without musical accompaniment. Either she doesn't know what the term means or she just doesn't listen. Maybe it's a bit of both.

Thank goodness Richard stepped in to correct her, but Robin was positive that now it would cost $8 to "use" a blanket and pillow on American Airlines coach flights.

Howard seemed confused..."You get to keep it, right?"

"Oh no, I don't think so" she said.

Again, that thing called Google Robin. "AA will sell a blue fleece blanket with an inflatable neck pillow in a clear zippered pouch."

"Sell" should have been the first clue.

Some Movie About Greek Gods

Again, Robin tells us about "that movie about the Greek gods...I don't know what it's called..." but then of course proceeds to introduce a clip from one of the stars and gets Howard talking about what a dumb idea this must be - of course because she is not explaining it correctly.

Ms. Quivers - it's "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" based on a hugely popular series of books by Rick Riordan. Both she and Howard sound like idiots not knowing about this. I'm sure they talked the same wy about Harry Potter before it became a multi-billion dollar industry on its own.

While her lazyness will be on vacation next week, I won't be suprised if this film is number 2 or 3 over the weekend behind "Dear John" and "Valentine's Day".

Why can't she at least get the title of the movie correct? I know... I expect too much.

Do you think she is given incomplete summaries of stories? I used to think she was reading them right off of the TMZ or Perez sites, but now I'm not so sure.

Robin Apparently Has Never Heard Of A Hair Salon For Men
Show Date: Wednesday 02/10/2010 -- Submitted 02/10/2010 1:19 PM by O-Qua Tangin Wann

Howard teased Ronnie "The Limo Driver" Mund today a lot because Mund's beard color looks awful.

Robin chimed in to tell everyone that there are no professional beard dyers (implying that Ronnie is forced to color his beard himself).

Has Robin never heard of a barber shop for men? Many barber shops nationwide include beard coloring, including this one at: http://www.metroformen.com/services_hair.asp (They charge $22)

You would think Robin would know that lots of men go to hair salons to get their hair dyed. So why wouldn't she naturally assume these salons would also do beards?

Yea but you can get co-writing credit just for inserting two words into a song.

Posted by Dora 02/11/2010 7:55 AM
She made the same statement about another artist a while back. I forgot who it was, maybe Mariah Carey. But she made the exact same statement in the exact same snooty tone and was wrong then too.

I never thought too much about it, Brit seems to have a good work ethic, but might also be kinda batshit.

Posted by Admin 02/10/2010 11:27 PM
She also has some writing credits on some of her more recent songs. While it's true that she is not a prolific song writer, and she has not written her most popular songs, to say she doesn't write anything is incorrect.

During Howard's rant about his possible selection to take over Simon Cowell's job on "American Idol," David Hasselhoff's name came up in the context that he had few qualifications to be a judge on "America's Got talent."

Robin jumped in and said David Hasselhoff's seat still has to be filled on "America's Got Talent."

Howie Mandel is replacing Hasselhoff. Wikipedia has Mandel's name listed as the new judge for 2010.

Drinking Two Cans Of Soda Per Week (Or Per Day) Can Increase Pancreatic Cancer Risk
Show Date: Tuesday 02/09/2010 -- Submitted 02/09/2010 2:14 PM by O-Qua Tangin Wann
6 comments -- View/Add Comments

Even when Robin gets the facts of a news story correct, sometimes she ends up getting it wrong.

During her news segment, Robin reported on the widely reported medical study that says drinking two or more cans of soda per week increases your chance of getting pancreatic cancer.

Howard turned it into a long bit about how Coke refused to hire him for a well-paying ad campaign because of Howard's assumed low morals, yet Coke sells sugar drinks that might do harm to people's health.

Towards the end, Howard thought Robin was wrong when she said two cans of soda per week. Howard thought it should be two cans of soda per day.

Robin, perhaps still reeling from Will Murray calling her out on getting so many news stories wrong decided to look it up and then back down. She came back with that she has now found conflicting reports where some say it is two cans per week and some say two cans per day. So, she decided to change her story and report that it is two cans per day.

If Robin simply went to Google and typed in "drink soda pancreatic cancer" (without the quotation marks, of course), she'd see many references to "two cans per week" right there in the results page, including from WebMD and ABC News and Yahoo News, etc.

     You can read more at:
     http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/pepsi-challenged-study...

I then searched Google for "drink soda pancreatic cancer two cans per day" and could find no reports that link two cans per day specifically with pancreatic cancer. It was all two cans per week.

More proof that Robin doesn't pre-read the news was when she said Rush Limbaugh was taken to the hospital with chest pain as if he went to the hospital with chest pain a second time. Actually, whoever did the news put in the article from last week when Limbaugh was hospitalized with chest pain and Robin didn't even know it. Wouldn't it be cool if someone slipped that in there just to prove she is incompetent?

Even better - this was from over the Christmas Holidays !!!! Yo may be right - I hope it was Will that slipped it in.

Just two cans per week of soda increases your chance of getting pancreatic cancer according to a 14-year study overseas.

Good submission; and O-Qua it is good you added the first Robin mistake when she first said it was two cans per day. This is the main mistake, and one she should not have made if she had just watched the news the night before, as Will Murray pointed out.

It was a big story on the news on February 8, where I first saw it. And the local and national news reported on the 8th that it was two cans per week. I knew Robin was wrong right away when she said two cans per day while Lisa Glasberg was in the studio.

Posted by Anonymous (96.26) 02/09/2010 6:49 PM
That's a big difference. Is it 2 cans per week or 14 cans per week?

Posted by O-Qua Tangin Wann 02/09/2010 6:40 PM
I just listened to an earlier portion of the show from today. There is a second Robin revelation concerning this submission.

Robin cannot even remember what she says from just a couple of hours before.

When Lisa G was in the studio this morning doing her segment, Howard brought up this whole drinking soda can increase pancreatic cancer risk thing.

Robin chimed in and said "drinking two cans of soda per day..." (So, she absolutely got it wrong at this time, before her news report.)

You would think Robin would have remembered she said two cans per day just a couple of hours earlier, and then say she is making the correction when starting her reporting of this story.

A caller asked Howard if he noticed that Miley Cyrus' breasts have been looking bigger lately. Howard said he did, and then started talking about how old she was. Robin of course jumped right in with "19".

Miley Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992, making her only 17. I hope no one is using Robin's calendar if they're thinking about dating a girl - it might just land him in jail.

Jailbait? It depends on what state she's in at the time. In many U.S. states the age of consent is 16, so you can legally have sex with someone that young. Sadly, in her home state of Tennessee and her current state of California, both have the age of consent set at 18. So we will have to wait another year before we can start boinking Miley. But if she travels to Alabama, Indiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, Iowa, or a load of other states, she's fair game.

Posted by Silly Goose 02/09/2010 3:14 PM
Robin even talked all over the caller with her incorrect age. I wish Howard would have said, "Robin, shut the f*%k up. Let the caller speak. Ok, now caller what 's the real age."
she is so annoying.

Robin Says Actor Channing Tatum Is New
Show Date: Wednesday 02/03/2010 -- Submitted 02/03/2010 9:42 PM by O-Qua Tangin Wann
2 comments -- View/Add Comments

During her news segment, Robin reported on the soon-to-be released movie titled "Dear John," starring Channing Tatum.

Howard asked Robin: "Who is that?" (referring to Tatum, of course).

Robin: "He's a new star." (That is all she said about him.)

He's not that new. Tatum had his first feature role in 2005, opposite Samuel L. Jackson in "Coach Carter." Tatum's next role was as the lead costar with Amanda Bynes in "She's The Man" in 2006. Also in 2006, Tatum was launched to stardom by starring in the big hit movie "Step Up." This movie grossed $114 million dollars.

Later that year, Tatum played in the 1980s-set drama "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Shia LaBeouf. Tatum's performance received positive notices at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, where the film premiered. The acclaim continued when he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for "Best Supporting Actor."

In 2008, Channing Tatum starred (with Ryan Phillippe) in the movie "Stop Loss."

In 2009, Channing starred in "G.I. Joe," which was huge...grossing over $300,000,000 worldwide. Also in 2009, Tatum starred in a movie called "Fighting." (Terrence Howard was also in the film.)

So, Channing Tatum has been known for over 4 years now. He has had a big following of fans since his breakout role in "Step Up" in 2006.

I would safely say that Channing Tatum has more fans in his (new) career then Robin has in her nearly 30 year journey riding on Howard's coat tails.

Robin Don't Know Che
Show Date: Wednesday 02/03/2010 -- Submitted 02/03/2010 9:17 PM by D-Bagz

This morning, Robin started talking about her previous evening. This included a viewing of "The Wolfman." This led to a discussion on Benicio Del Toro, which led to a discussion of his film "Che." Then Robin opened her pie hole.

She mentioned the Ernesto "Che" Guevara was kicked out of Cuba for being "too communist." First off, he was never "kicked out" of Cuba. He did have his differences with Fidel Castro, and the Soviet government was putting pressure on Castro to distance himself from Guevara, but it is widely known that Che left Cuba to pursue his dream of global revolution.

The irony of this is, Robin later chastised Will for calling Castro a Prime Minister instead of a President. BTW Will, if you are reading this, THANK YOU for giving it back to that moo cow. I hope you do keep a note of all the mistakes Robin makes.

Also, if Che was kicked out of Cuba, then why is he buried there, and immortalised in so much artwork and statuary?

Listening to the best of today, I also noticed that when Robin was disputing the "prime minister of cuba" question, she said that Castro was a "Premier" and not a Prime Minister.

I posted about this the day it happened, but every one eventually backs down from Robin. She's Queen of the Roost and probably pulls more power thanks to her closeness to Howard (don't forget the car!) than we realize. She used to be a nice contrast to Howard but now she's just embarrassing. She's an old woman who can't even do what her job requires, yet pulls in millions of dollars a year.

Yea it was cool that Will called out Robin for her mistakes ,but then he backed down when she called him out on it later.

It's amazing to me how someone can have such a pie job with so much information at their fingertips and still know practically nothing. It's almost like these people who work there are proud of their ignorance. Good God, I'm a welder and I know far more than these jackasses who are supposed to be plugged into the world.

Posted by HeHateMe 02/04/2010 4:22 PM
Or she could just shut the hell up during the show and study her news. That would be win win for us.

Posted by Dora 02/04/2010 10:36 AM
That was GREAT when Will went after her for HER mistakes in the news. I wish he didn't let up so quickly. She got EXTREMELY defensive and tried to claim it was the best she could do because she had minimal time to prepare and needs to prepare during the show. Here's an idea- like every other shmo in corporate America who has to "prepare" for their job, how about coming in a little early and getting it done before hand? Or maybe take some time at the end of the show to prepare? Its just a thought. I know its not "easy" doing the show, but she has a fraction of the responsibility of Howard. She has time for enemas and yoga after work. How about a little job preparation instead.

Robin was reporting on the decision of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to begin the process of rescinding the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy in which gays can serve in the military so long as their sexual preference is maintained confidential. She reported on Senator John McCain's opposition to rescinding the policy, stating: "He seems to be the only one against the policy and he's not even in the military anymore."

Giving Robin the benefit of the doubt, that she meant to say Senator McCain is against rescinding the policy, she still erred. In fact, the decision to rescind the policy is quite controversial with large numbers of people on each side of the issue. For example, in just one Washington Post article, it is reported that "Over 1150 former generals and admirals have grave reservations about the repeal." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn.... Senator McCain is far from alone in opposing rescission of the policy.

Robin Is Finally Attacked For Her Endless News Reporting Factual Errors
Show Date: Wednesday 02/03/2010 -- Submitted 02/03/2010 12:53 PM by O-Qua Tangin Wann

I am hoping Admin posts this submission, not necessarily as a Robin mistake, but because it deserves to be since someone on Howard's staff finally called Robin out on something Admin has been posting about for so long. It is kind of vindication for this site and all of us.

There was an incredible exchange this morning, at about 9:40 a.m., between Will Murray and Robin. Will went on the attack...and it was so sweet.

Retaliating for Robin jumping on him for what she perceived as his factual errors on the Castro question during the "Win Sal's Money" game, Will let Robin have it concerning her innumerable mistakes made while reporting the news.

Will was very upset and very serious, telling Robin he could point out the endless factual errors she reports. Robin tried to justify why she makes many mistakes, saying she prepares the news during the show. Will rightfully called her on that bullshit excuse, saying she should have an interest in the news and be watching it the night before.

If anyone has a link to this, I recommend everyone listen.

Will was pointing out one of the biggest issues I have mentioned before on this site, and that is Robin shouldn't make the news mistakes she makes if she simply watched the news every night.

Will repeated again that Robin should be watching the news and have an interest in the news naturally (and because it is her job). Will implied he wouldn't make the numerous mistakes Robin makes because Will has an interest in the news and watches the news every night.

Admin Note: Here is the audio

any google search of robin should bring this site up

Will should have said "there is a whole site devoted to your mistakes".

She says "i wasn't attacking you"? She was in that whollier than thou voice of hers...

THIS AUDIO SHOULD PLAY EVERY TIME SOMEONE VISITS THE SITE...LOL

In the interest of accuracy, much of that discussion about a Robin site took place a year or more ago and it pre-dates this particular site. That site is no longer around. I appreciate this site a great deal especially the ability to add comments to the posts, but I'm pretty sure that initially the on air discussion was about the older web site.

YES! Robins News Website has been vindicated. So has everyone who has ever contributed either a posting or comment.

We now know that everyone on the show, including Howard, knows that Robin makes so many mistakes and that she does not watch the news regularly.

Admin, I give you a standing ovation. Perhaps your work is now done.

I missed it on the show so thank you Admin for posting it. You could tell someone pointing out 34's mistakes really hit a nerve with her. When she kept saying 'you do what you do and I'll do what I do' she was trying to get the subject dropped quick. You could tell Howard wasn't going to get into it either. If he had, maybe she would have done a walk out and save us all from the slow painful death of having to listen to her spew forth her mistake ridden dribble.

Will was my hero right up until the WUS. I can only imagine what Robin really said when she took him aside, it must have been bad enough to scare the guy into pussying out. Regardless, this was truly some kind of vindication for this site and it's mission. There's no fucking way she could have her own show. Imagine her trying to read a teleprompter.

When the show finally comes to an end, Will and others will write a tell-all book. Robin will be exposed.

The audio is great. Gracias!

Yes, thank you to Admin for posting the audio.

Will's sentiments were almost a word for word duplicate of the comments that have been posted on this Website in the past, where it was expressed that Robin should have an interest in watching or reading the news anyway even if it was not a part of her job.

A big thanks to admin for linking the audio. Wow! Will expressed what a lot of people were already thinking. Certainly you can understand why Will had to back down on the Wrap Up Show. Robin was really upset with Will. Will needs that job and doesn't want his superiors angry with him. But you can see Will sincerely believes Robin makes a lot of mistakes when she does her news stories. Plus, others probably told Will he should back down since pointing out Robin's failings might not be popular with Howard. Howard knows Robin makes mistakes, but he is loyal to her.

Too bad Will wussed out on the Wrap Up Show.

It was sweet dessert listening to someone in the studio calling Robin out for all her news mistakes. Thanks for posting this, Admin.

I agree here with this.

While no one on the staff today said they read this site, it has been discussed on the show a couple of times that there is a site that logs Robin's mistakes. This was after Langford first reported it a long time ago.

Rather than Will or anyone sitting in the back checking the facts of Robin's news reports every day, they can simply check this site. Gosh, pages and pages of news mistakes here. Will is on the phone fielding fan calls all during Howard's show. He cannot be listening to all Robin's news stories while he is on the phone. Either someone back there has to point out when a mistake is made, or he can simply access this website at any time day or night. Will targeted Robin's many news mistakes as if he or someone back there does read this site. I feel this is true just like you do Admin & OQTW.

I haven't heard it, I'll have to see if I can catch a replay tonight.

Once during a phone call with Steve Langford he asked me if I suspected there might be anyone at Sirius (especially with The Show) who might be contributing submissions.

I replied that I welcome all contributors, but having an "insider" is not necessarily an advantage because we are simply posting things that Robin has said publicly, to the whole listening audience. So anyone can report her mistakes just as easily as someone at Sirius can.

But after the conversation it did make me think perhaps he was hinting that the site is read by some people there.

I think it is very safe to assume Will and/or someone else from the back office there on the show reads this RobinsNews Website regularly. After listening to this fight between Will and Robin, I think you might agree with me.

If Only Robin Would Remain As Silent As The Silent Alarm Rip Torn Triggered
Show Date: Wednesday 02/03/2010 -- Submitted 02/03/2010 10:48 AM by O-Qua Tangin Wann

Howard continued talking about the widely publicized Rip Torn story this morning. An inebriated (and passed out) Rip Torn was arrested after breaking into a bank, as everyone knows.

Robin chimed in expressing her shock, stating that Torn must have been SO drunk since after he broke the window a loud alarm went off and Torn slept through it. Robin also told everyone that every bank has a loud alarm that goes off if one breaks a window and enters the closed bank.

Robin is wrong on two counts here, as apparently Robin never heard of a silent alarm.

Many banks use silent alarms, of course. And, in this specific Rip Torn case, it has been reported that Torn triggered a silent alarm.

And The Female Winning The Most Grammys Is....Well Let Robin Tell You

Howard was talking about Beyonce's performance on the Grammys. He stated that he doesn't really get her music and that he saw her on 60 Minutes and that they treated her like the next big thing. Robin jumped in to say that she's won a ton of awards and that she won the most (Grammys) ever by a woman.
The second part of her statement is incorrect. In fact Beyonce is third on the list for most Grammys won by a female artist. Alison Krauss won 27, Aretha Franklin won 18 and Beyonce won 16. As always Robin quick to give information as if it were factual when it is completely incorrect.

I took it as she won the most by a woman in one Grammys. Which is true.

While coming back from break Fred played "Wonderwall" covered by Ryan Adams. Howard asked who was singing the song. Howard thought it was "the guy who f'd Jennifer Aniston" so without skipping a beat Robin jumped in and said it was a Dave Matthews song.

Of course Fred had to correct her saying it was Ryan Adams. Even still she fought back saying, "No it's a Dave Matthews song" to which Howard and Fred both stated that it was an Oasis song (sung by Ryan Adams). Robin finally conceded. How wrong can someone be all the time yet still open their mouth to give "information".

That's her 34 personality. Most normal people, if they were unsure, would say, "Isn't that Dave Matthews?"

But Robin never assumes that she might be wrong. She is so over-the-top confident in herself that she always believes she's right, and she never considers the possibility that she might not be.

Posted by HeyNow 02/06/2010 6:00 PM
And she said it with authority (not "I think it *might* be Dave Matthews") -- drives me nuts. She really is a 34.

Posted by HeHateMe 02/04/2010 5:03 PM
Well said inotherwords. When Howard was ranting about how Kathy Lee and Hoda kept interrupting, 34 was interrupting Howard. Like Rob, I wish they would get someone on the show that would bust Robin's balls about being wrong all of the time.

Posted by inotherwords 02/03/2010 3:17 PM
Has this site ever been mentioned on the show? I think it's a great place to vent and somehow neutralize the annoyance she is to myself and so many others. As for her speaking out of turn with useless untruths, she is worst than Kathy Lee.

Posted by Rob 02/02/2010 9:45 PM
"34" It says it all. She feels that most people will not even know whether she is correct or not so they will assume she is correct because it is rare that she is corrected on the show. Again we all need to continue to email the link to this site to the show and eventually it will get through to someone there who is not afraid of her.

Brake Pedal, Gas Pedal; What's The Difference?
Show Date: Monday 02/01/2010 -- Submitted 02/01/2010 10:40 AM by Robin Observer

Robin started out a news story about a Toyota recall and described the cause as faulty brake pedals. Further into the story, she read that the cause was faulty gas pedals. Realizing her error, she corrected herself and said it wasn't brake pedals, it was gas pedals. Shouldn't Robin review her stories before she reads them?

Will attacked her for all of her clearly incorrect news facts on Wednesday's show. That was nice until he wussied out later, essentially saying he was wrong for saying that. I miss the old days when the staff members had balls (Stuttering John).

During Monday's wrap up show, a number of callers were criticizing Robin for all the mistakes she makes.

The gang was discussing the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding the ability of corporations to contribute to political campaigns and Justice Alito's reaction when President Obama proclaimed, during his State of the Union address, that the decision will open up contributions by foreign entities. Feeling the need to contribute, Robin weighed in:"It's supposed to be one man, one vote but this money thing is screwing things up." The campaign finance decision by the U.S. Supreme Court has nothing to do with the principle of one man one vote. While corporate contributions might influence voter choices, they still have one vote per person.

A good point... and while our favorite show tries to be non-political, I was just dumbfounded about the misunderstanding regarding this topic today. OK... here goes.

Benjy was right in that Howard was not completely accurate in his understanding of the ruling. The case involved a political group that had funded a movie that was anti Hilary Clinton. They were so concerned about her winning the election that they made a movie against her. Lower courts ruled that this was not a free speech issue, but in effect a "political ad" and should be counted towards the spending limits, rules, etc. around campaign finance laws.

So this was the constitutional question before the court: Can people's speech be limited or controlled by campaign finance laws? (McCain-Feingold as an example) a broad reading of the ruling says "no"....going forward there should be no restrictions on who can spend money or how they can spend it on advertising for a political candidate of their choosing.

At first glance, Howard is correct in saying that the corporations with very deep pockets will control elections. (And then ask us for bailouts! Ha) Anyway, that is probably true.

But as a caller mentioned, other groups, like labor unions and other progressive causes, will also enjoy the same limitless spending if they have the money. Instead of having to go to a movie theater to watch a Michael Moore film, a rich person like George Soros can just buy 2 hours of time on the networks and have it shown there to the entire country for free. The process can work both ways. This is the information that was missing from the discussion.

Michael Moore is probably working on a Mitt Romney film right now !!! Can't wait to see it!
